International Marine Salvage - Environmental Policy


International Marine Salvage (IMS) is involved in hazardous waste transporting, processing and storage, ferrous and non-ferrous metal recycling, ship breaking, and marine related activities. International Marine Salvage operates five (5) facilities; three (3) located in Port Colborne, Ontario, one (1) located in St. Catharines, Ontario and one (1) facility in Buffalo, New York. IMS is committed to providing quality service to clients everywhere.

IMS staff are committed to addressing all areas of operations where there is a potential for environmental contamination and implementing the appropriate environmental policy, prevention and emergency procedures
Spill Control and Emergency Response
IMS staff ensure that all accidents and emergency situations are identified and remedied and are committed to continually improving current procedures to effectively prevent and/or mitigate contamination of the natural environment
Employee Environmental Awareness
IMS staff are encouraged to be considerate of the environment both during and after the workday. We strive to increase environmental awareness of all employees by incorporating the environment into all operations within the company
Resource Conservation
IMS staff are proud to be involved in the recycling industry and will seek out new technologies and business ventures that promote resource conservation

Objectives and targets are established based on these commitments and the company’s environmental performance is evaluated for effectiveness at Management Review. International Marine Salvage is a community-oriented workplace committed to:
